The ‘mystery orb’ found at the Japanese beach turns out to be a common marine equipment

On Tuesday , a mystery orb washed up on the Japanese beach . It was a rusty yellowish sphere which was about the size of a wrecking ball was discovered by a local at the beach who later contacted the authorities . This mystery orb had created panic among authorities and locals as some suggested that it could be a “Godzilla’s egg” and some assumed it to be a “spy balloon” that was earlier spotted above US . But the result turned out to be really unexpected  when it was found out what actually this mysterious ball was ?

After this mystery orb drifted ashore in Hamamatsu , Japan , officials in helmets and hazmat suits cordoned off the area and they even planted a traffic cone on the sand to ward people off which really piqued the interest about what the object really is ?

According to NYT , after conducting the X-ray test , the police confirmed that it was not explosive but just a large , spherical piece of crap metal . Uwe Send , an oceanographer with Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California , San Diego said in an interview ,” It’s just a normal buoy.”

Such kind of buoys are typically made of steel and are often used for mooring ships in harbors or at sea . In recent years , these research buoys have also washed up in Santa Barbara , Calif and Miami .The sphere ball found was around 1.5 meters in diameter and had a series of metallic handles . According to a expert in Marine debris , the fact that the ball was not covered by shells or seaweed suggests that it probably hadn’t traveled very far and his best guess was that the buoy was not used for scientific purposes but was designed to anchor a ship or some other heavy object .

As per NYT , Hiroyuki Yagi , an official at Shizouka Prefecture’s River and Coastal Management Bureau said , “ The ball is going to be scrapped eventually and authorities has assigned a local company to hold on to it for now.”

After it was discovered that this “mystery orb” was just a buoy , many people have voiced their embarrassment at this whole incident and social media was filled with jokes and rumors related to this buoy .
